Sikhs in the Australian Defence Force (ADF)
Due to the progressive policies of the ADF, Australian Sikhs have been serving in the Australian Navy, Army and Air Force in various operational and non-operational roles without having to compromise any of their articles of faith or religious beliefs. A few profiles of Australian Sikhs that are currently serving or have recently served are contained below.
1980's onwards:
Private Govind Singh - 25th / 49th Royal Queensland Regiment from 2000 to 2003. Govind Singh served his last six months full time and was deployed to Malaysia on training exercises.
